Phase 4: Documentation

The main story of Uptown is that the people in the area are changing, while the actual area and the buildings are staying the same.

Architectural Age Map
Architectural Age, it shows the age of the various buildings in Uptown. It shows the buildings that were built after 2000, between 1950-2000, between 1900 and 1949, and before 1900.

This map is relevant to the area because it shows how old and historic the architecture in the area is. it also supports our claim that the area is staying the same while the people are changing – people are moving in and out, but the buildings for the most part have been there for awhile.

Architectural Styles Diagram
Local Architectural Styles, this diagram shows the various architectural styles present around the site. It shows the vast variety of different styles in the area and how rich the architectural history is in Uptown.

This diagram is significant to our research because it shows how rich the history of architecture is in the area. There are a great amount of different styles used in the architecture of uptown, and quite a few in some of those styles. They are also mostly in the same strip of the neighborhood, which shows even more how historic this area of Uptown is.
