Main Story:
The main story of Hyde park is that it’s a unique neighborhood in both Chicago and the south side. This is one of the south sides most diversity neighborhoods and it’s one of the few middle class areas left in Chicago. Hyde Park is an example as to what Chicago could strive to be as they try decrease segregation in it’s neighborhoods and bring back middle class families into Chicago.

This graph is significant to our presentation because it shows that the unemployment rating of Hyde Park is lower then the rest of the surrounding neighborhood in Hyde Park and Chicago. This is again reenforcing the main idea that this is a unique area in Chicago and in the south side

This graph shows the racial diversity in Hyde park through out time and how it became more multi cultural over time. This graph demonstrates that unlike other predominately white areas in Chicago that ether redline or left there neighborhood to the suburbs; Hyde park stayed a middle class neighborhood that became increasingly diverse. This ties back to the idea that Hyde park is unique area in Chicago and the Southside.
