I hope you all had a great break. In the first week of studio we’ll have a quick project and spend a little time getting to know one another and this blog. The main uses of the blog will be for me to post instructions and clarifications to project assignments and for you to post your work at the conclusion of each project phase.

A couple introductory steps. First, follow this blog:

OPTION 1. Follow this blog on a wordpress account associated with your IIT email AND enable email notifications so that you receive an email each time there is a new post to the blog. Eventually you’ll all need to have a wordpress account in order to make your own posts to the blog so this is the easiest and best way to set up email notifications.

OPTION 2. But if you don’t yet have a wordpress account or are having trouble getting the notifications turned on, for now you can sign up to follow this blog via email independent of a wordpress account:

Also make sure you’re still following the studio-wide blog from last semester (this is where the main updates and assignments will be posted).

What is absolutely crucial is that you receive email notifications about new posts on this blog and the studio-wide blog.

I’ll invite you separately by email to join a shared google drive and to become a contributor to this blog so you can author your own posts.

Once you’ve joined this blog as a contributor there will be a quick introductory assignment that will get you up and running with wordpress basics. You can find this assignment in the Blog Feed using the Navigation Menu or clicking the “assignment” category in the Category Cloud (both are in the right sidebar when viewing this page on a large screen).
