2/28 PIN-UP REQUIREMENTS
Have 11×17 sheets to pin-up: these can be printed, hand-drawn, or trace pinned over a blank page. Basic requirements below are drawn directly from the midterm with modifications. We will use the pin-up to talk about where you are and how to move toward midterm, especially, developing the massing models and formal concepts.
Mix of maps, charts, and other diagrams:
- Diagram(s) of key responses/analysis of the neighborhood
- Diagram(s) of resident choices (demographics)
- Diagram(s) of site showing important considerations for your project (can be a sketch over the site plan developed as a group)
Bubble diagrams (non-spatial, showing adjacencies and connections)
- Diagram of typical residential spaces showing clustering, sharing
- Diagram of each communal program (starting to get into the specific spaces needed for the program (ie an urban farm: may have outdoor planting areas, greenhouse, storage, potting, classroom, farm stand…)
- Diagram of how the residential and communal programs relate
Block diagrams (program “blocks” to scale)
- Overall of major program elements
- plan diagrams as needed to show major concepts
- Section diagram of entire “building” showing program blocks and including floor levels, opaque vs. transparent walls, site context.
Sketches, diagrams, and/or photos
- Formal and sharing concepts, precedents, and how you can incorporate.
If you’re already wanting to think in 3D using massing models, that’s great feel free to work on.
