Phase 3: Michael Ocejo

Merge: The model is divided into five different color groups that combine as they go into the center. The desinty also increases as user goes into the center of the model. The candles are also placed on an angle to add a sense of percarousisness. I wanted to create a feeling of hierarchy in the space so I made the center of the model the main focal point. The program of the model was to serve as memorial.

Gather: The Cuban coffee cups are aranged in a maze like pattern leading to a central space in the middle of the model. The cup’s arrangement is determined by the top lip which allows the spaces to have asense of continuity. The cups create different pathways in the model, some lead to the central point and while others lead to a dead end. I thought the program of the model was to serve as some form of a spiritual experience for the user with a central point being the most important space.

Laminate: The units that make up the model are glued together to create a space for the user to go and experience. The user can go into theses spaces or view them from the outside. The objects also are also modularized by color and quantity. The objects are also shifted to create a more dynamic space and allow the user to go a walk around in the space. I though the program of the model should be a interactive sculpture located in some public space or plaza.
