Overlap: The building has balconies that rotate on each floor. They overlap each other so that each unit has the best views and best direct sunlight. The rotation and overlapping creates less privacy since the residents can view onto others’ balconies.

Intersect: All of the apartments have a balcony. However, in many balconies, the private spaces are intersected because the units share a balcony.

Merge: There are open courtyards in the low center of the building. These spaces are open to the public as they merge urban living with nature.
Blend: River City is a blend of the Suburban life, which is less dense, and the city life, which is more dense and public.

Mix: The apartment complex has a mix of programs throughout the building. The programs are both public, such as the retail areas and courtyards, and private, such as the residential areas.

Weave: The public circulation spaces weave through and wrap around the private housing units.

Bind: The programs of the building are bonded with one another. The public first level is bonded with the private residential areas.

Laminate: The building is composed of identical rectangular units. These units are then laminated together to form a shared and larger space.

Gather: There is a gathering of people in the first level of the building. In the first floor, there are public programs such as the gym and the spa.

Bundle: The programs are bundled and the private space is sandwiched in between the public spaces. The public gardens are bundled with the residential areas.
