This sleeping space provide moments of quiet sleep and rest without wasting time in search for a hotel. But design of windows makes the person in it feel uncomfortable and not private at all. As the person can be observed by everyone who is passing the box. 
Overall design provide two levels of some kind of private spaces to eat and rest. But those “private” seating spaces are interrupted by people who eat on top of them. 
The central social interaction scape that belongs to private apartments is open to the surroundings. By having that open rectangle, residents inside can be observed by the ones who are on the street.
Examples from daily life

The bathroom space is weird as it has seating chairs. Those chairs are located in the way that they experience different amount of comfort or privacy. 
Gallery space has dining areas near the walls. That eating spaces consider to be private but they are disturbed by the noise that comes from exhibition spaces. 
This staircase provide seating/relaxing spaces throughout it. But in some places that relaxing areas are interrupted by the upper same ares.
