My name is Derek Pietrowski. I am from suburban Chicago in a town called Palos Park. Growing up I was always fascinated with how things were put together and what went into buildings and homes. At an early age I was constantly building with LEGO and I believe that is what gave me deeper insight into what I want to study in the future. Architecture was something that I immediately knew was the right major for me. I chose IIT for the aspect of being close to home and being in a city where architecture is prevalent on every street you walk on.
Outside of architecture I am interested in sports. I have played baseball all my life and am a huge follower of the MLB.
