Final Phase: Lilibeth Arreola

The idea for my module came from the initial site research we were assigned in early October. I was given in between 32nd and 31st streets, Normal Avenue. I noticed a huge contrast in the newer and older homes and tried to maintain this as my concept for the rest of the project. This led me to using two distinctive spaces to create my module.

After having created my module, the rest of the programming became easier to do. I placed spaces where I believed made the most sense when it came to ceiling heights, connecting walls, etc.

Because the shape of my module was very different in comparison to the standard box, I struggled a little when it came to site design and what exactly I wanted to get from my specific layout. I preferred a radial layout because it allowed more a more communal entrance space and still branched into personal private areas.

With the extra space I decided to create a seating area for the residents. The shape came from the interior enclosed space created by the aggregation.
