Phase 3: Collage

For our collage we were given a specific street in Bridgeview and were supposed to find one kind of architectural genre to extrapolate upon. Naturally one would decide to do something such as material or house details like windows, doors, etc. For my collage I wanted to incorporate an element of architecture that isn’t so obvious. I believe that the use of traffic signs, and signs in general, in a busy area like Bridgeview are a vital part in the community and the architecture of the community. The signs guide people, traffic, and where buildings are placed. Then I explored the shape of the sign and the way they are strategically placed and in a sense “joined together” with my model. The boxes signify the different sizes of the signs to show the different significance of each. They are also joined by a beam to illustrate how each post of a sign correlates with another.
