I had Normal Ave, in between 32nd and 33rd St. What I noticed the most when walking down the street was the difference in between the old and new homes. The old houses were usually one story and one could see the materials deteriorating. Meanwhile, the new houses on the street had multiple stories and different material throughout the exterior facade.
For my collage, I wanted to further emphasize this by creating a “new” house out of parts and pieces of actual new houses on the street. As well as, creating an “old” house out of the old houses on the street.

Furthering onto the model, I wanted to continue showing the contrast in size of the buildings and show how it affected the space. To execute this, I decided to create these two houses seen in my collage and place one within the other. I believe using acrylic as the material for my model, one is able to actually look inside both houses and compare and contrast the spaces of each.
