Aveiyah Gordon Phase 03:

When creating a collage that represents my block I documented all of the houses that were on the block. I broke apart each picture of the houses into pieces and places the different pieces together to make a form of a singluar house. I overlayed and changed the opacity on a quite a few of the parts and in the end it ended up with this very collaged house shape that represents my entire block. When turning this 2 dimensional shape into a 3 dimensional model I focused on the technique I used for the shape of the house and made a model that also took the form of a house. I took the pieces from the different parts of each house that I collaged and had those pieces represented rooms. So essentially I made massing blocks to represent the rooms and put the massings together in the house like shape. I also chose to not glue certain pieces to represent the collaging technique I used which was taking parts to make a whole. So I allowed certain pieces to be moved around in order to show that the pieces are fluid and don’t need to be in a fixed manner as long as the house shape is represented and to show the action of actual 3 dimensional collaging, putting these massing pieces together to make this house like shape.
