In my street (Union ave. in Bridgeport) I took pictures of the spaces between the buildings and focused on how they create an unintentional space that is both private and open.
I combined photographs of different spaces and made a collage with them in way that they will represent the general look of these spaces and the houses in the neighborhood. I also included different portions of their facades and the brickwork.
When I transferred this idea to my 3D collage, I wanted to create this space between two buildings with the layering technique. I showed different structures of two houses and created this in-between space without defining the borders, only using the depth that the layers brought.
I painted the inner side of the layers metallic-silver to emphasize this space more, but in a subtle way.
