BreezeBREAK is a modular pavilion that aggregates along the Lakefront trail, a bike path that runs north to south along Lake Michigan. It functions as a rest stop if one needs to briefly catch their breath and avoid the wind. One module is a 4′ x 8′ structure that extends 8′ high with a “L” shaped bench that allows for a couple different ways to sit about it. The other half to the full pavilion is a mirror copy of that single module. Dependent on how they are arranged and oriented the full pavilion can take on a number of different forms, each with unique ways people are “suggested” to act about it. When constructing the drawings, I decided that I would make hybrid drawings, showing both the shade and shadow of a rendering and the linework of a more traditional drawing. I believe this helps read the depth of the plan and arrangement of members on the elevation. As for the parts and pieces diagram, I focused on showing the different organizations of the modules while also showing the assembly of two of the joints and how the second material (acrylic strips) are incorporated into the design.
